Brian Mackenzie, Baron Mackenzie of Framwellgate, OBE is a former British Labour and now non-aligned member of the House of Lords. He is the former President of the Police Superintendents’ Association.
Brian rose through the ranks of the police service, becoming a Superintendent upon secondment to the Home Office and later becoming Chief Superintendent in the Constabulary. A graduate of the FBI Academy at Quantico, Virginia, he was active in the Police Superintendents’ Association and was its President for three years
In 1998, Brian was raised to the Peerage as Baron Mackenzie of Framwellgate, of Durham in the County of Durham. In the House of Lords, Brian has been most active in speaking on issues relating to crime and policing issues. He published his memoir, “Two Lives of Brian – from Policing to Politics” in 2004. Brian held the historical and honorary appointment of Billet Master of the City of Durham between 1989 and 2003. He was made an Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Chester-le-Street in 2001. He was appointed OBE in the 1998 New Year Honours for services to the Police Service and the Police Superintendents’ Association of England and Wales.
Currently Brian is vice chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Cyber Security in Parliament, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.
Brin brings significant commercial and leadership experience to the Board. Brin is the former Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Energy Solutions Group Ltd and spent 12 years building that business from its initial purchase through a management buy out to an ultimate sale to SSE in 2014. In 2015 he joined the board of Utilitywise Plc as Chief Operating Officer responsible for the development of the groups corporate divisional operation and led the sale of that part of the group in 2019.
Brin has significant experience in the development of executive teams and in the building of strong businesses and having spent his whole career deploying technology solutions that help customers run their buildings more sustainably he is well placed to support the Juberi board with their strategy and growth aspirations.
In addition to his extensive leadership experience, Brin holds an HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Durham has graduated from leadership programs at Dunchurch College of Management and INSEAD Paris and is a master practitioner in NLP.
Brin also holds non-executive chairman roles with the iEM Global Group Ltd, the RE:GEN Group Ltd and is a Director of Chevalier Capital Ltd and Founder of Management Consultancy business KALA Growth Mentoring.
Michael has over 35 year’s industry experience as a Business Director within the Proptech commercial markets and as a business owner of a leading technology consultancy practice and he holds a Masters in Business Administration and HNC in building services.
Michael has a passion for technology, AI, building ergonomics and project procurement and delivery. Clients rarely achieve their expectations due to the industry teams ‘slowness’ to adopt and adapt innovation, whilst projects continually fail to deliver the basic fundamentals.
Michael’s ambition is to take the Juberi Journey and create a world-class, worldwide standard for Smart Buildings and for DoRa3 to become the SaaS, expandable and scalable platform creating the ‘legacy of the Smart Building of the future’ available for Owners, Developers, Designers and Operators to utilise and grow.
Tom is a Product & Technology Director who works with Juberi to integrate the right technology, software and mobile apps to achieve greater SMART Building user experiences.
Tom has spent over two decades leading software development teams with several reputable BEMS companies in the BEMS industry, including SSE, Schneider Electric and Building Automation Solutions, and knows how to combine seamless working technologies by blending bespoke software with commercially available products.
Tom’s experience and combined skillsets in software development, IT operations and IT infrastructure are a rarity in the market. His knowledge in BEMS & IoT application solutions are key ingredients in meeting SMART Building goals.
Tom holds a MBA from the Open University and a Dipl.Ing. (FH) in Mechanical Engineering from the Fachhochschule Braunschweig Wolfenbüttel.
Kenny has held positions of Chief Technology Officer and Senior Networking Director in various Service Providers and VAR partners in a varying career as a networking expert spanning the last twenty years.
He is leading the Juberi engagement on IT and OT network convergence within the Smart Building with his experience as an expert network architect in WAN, LAN, Data Centre, and using IT networking hardware within OT networks. Allowing Juberi to put forward and discuss best practice for converged Information Technology and Operational Technology LAN architectures as part of the Juberi Smart Building Certification process.
Kenny is a member of the International Society of Automation (ISA), and is the driving force aligning the Juberi Smart Building Certification for Cybersecurity and the Information Technology and Operational Technology convergence methodology alongside frameworks such as ISA/IEC 62443, ISO-27001, and the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).
Paul is one of the co-founders of Juberi. He has spent over 30 years in the building technology industry and has a huge amount of experience in business development and sales leadership.
In 2006, Paul was a part of the MBO team that managed the transition from Siemens Building Technologies to The Energy Solutions Group and then through to final sale of the business to SSE PLC in 2014.
Paul has significant experience of working closely with product development teams to create business propositions and solutions that meet customer needs.
Paul’s vast experience of building technology, energy management and building analytics underpins the Juberi journey of understanding the role of and potential for IoT solutions within SMART buildings.
In addition to his extensive leadership experience, Paul holds an MBA from Leeds University Business School and an HNC in Building Services Control Systems from Stockport College.
Durgan has founded, sold, and continues to lead a portfolio of technology and Insurance related businesses during the past 20 years.
With a background in electrical engineering, Durgan moved into the information technology sector within financial services in the mid-1990’s and his career has continued to evolve into a solutions architect and thought leader within the IT and cyber domain.
With experience spanning defence, nuclear and the financial service industries Durgan’s ability to interpret business requirements and create achievable and understandable solutions continues to add business value to his customers.
